The West Bengal government has earmarked another 100 acres of land for its Silicon Valley Tech Hub. Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub aims to attract investment in IT/ITeS/Telecom projects that are likely to create jobs.

According to Partha Chatterjee, state minister of Information Technology, the government is doing everything it can to ensure that it becomes the information technology hub of not only India but the world.

As per Chatterjee, technology is a key focus area for the West Bengal government.

The state recognises the need for uniform global standards, international set of laws, inclusive labour laws, and industrial codes, he stated.
