Vodafone Qatar has listed 40 per cent of its shares on the Doha Stock Exchange. The telecom company sold the shares to private and institutional Qatari investors in an initial public offering in April 2009, raising $930 million. The remaining stake, owned by UKbased Vodafone Group (22.95 per cent), Qatar Foundation (22.05 per cent) and other Qatari institutions (15 per cent), will be locked in for a two-year period and will be blocked from trading.
