Vodafone India has invested about Rs 1.5 billion on strengthening its network distribution in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana during 2014-15. The operator has added over 1,300 new sites across the region, taking the total number of 2G sites in AP and Telangana circle to 9,500. With this addition, the company has now established its presence across 12,650 towns and villages in the two states. The operator ensures 3G connectivity in 390 additional towns through an intra-circle roaming agreement with other operators.
The company has further said that it has been taking a series of ground level activities to increase awareness and adoption of data services, which has resulted in data revenues rising significantly. Data now contributes to 11 per cent of total service revenues in the circle.
Meanwhile, the operator also invested about Rs 10 billion for ramping up its network and retail presence in the Mumbai circle during 2014-15.
