Vodafone India has posted its financial results for the three month period ended December 31, 2013.  For the period under review, the operator has reported service revenue of Rs 95 billion witnessing a decline of two per cent over the corresponding period in 2012.

On an organic basis, the operator?s service revenues grew by 13.2 per cent driven by continued customer growth, higher voice usage, improved voice pricing and increased data usage. Vodafone India has emerged as the top growth market for the parent, UK-based Vodafone Group, in terms of organic growth. Vodafone India?s organic growth represents performance on a comparable basis, both in terms of merger and acquisition activities and movements in foreign exchange rates.

Further, for the period under review, the operator?s data usage grew 117 per cent with 38 per cent increase in the number of mobile internet users and a 65 per cent increase in usage per customer. As of December 31, 2013, the operator had a subscriber base of 45.7 million data customers, including 5.2 million 3G subscribers. Vodafone India?s 3G usage averaged about 700 MB per month, while it added more than 2,000 3G telecom sites during the quarter. It added 4.9 million users, taking its total customer base to 160.4 million as of December 31, 2013, witnessing a growth of 8.8 per cent over the corresponding quarter in 2012.
