
Vodafone India is planning to augment the 2G and 3G network coverage in the Gujarat circle. The operator intends to set up of over 200 mobile base transceiver stations every month for the next six months to improve network coverage. It has already invested 4 billion to improve the mobile network coverage, with addition of 950 stations throughout Gujarat since January 2014.
The plans are a way forward to the growing data revenues in the Gujarat circle and the increased use of 3G network. The company has a subscriber base of about 17.4 million and revenue market share of 37.7 per cent in the circle. The data revenues contribute 15 per cent of the total revenues for Vodafone India in the Gujarat circle.
