Vodafone India likely to appoint NSN for upgrading its 2G and 3G network

Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) is likely to receive a $200 million contract for upgrading Vodafone India?s 2G and 3G networks.

Vodafone India is likely to mandate NSN India to enhance capacities in 19 second-generation (2G) and six third-generation (3G) networks. The new contract will include the supply of higher capacity base stations, switches and core network systems by NSN for both 2G and 3G network.

The network upgrade is expected to help Vodafone India to meet the exponential increase in data usage in India.
