Vodafone Idea has reportedly removed the priority 4G network feature, that offered faster data speeds, from its RedX postpaid plan.

As per industry sources, the telco has done this to avoid a potential ban of its premium tariff offer by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Earlier in November 2019, Vodafone Idea had launched its RedX plan. As part of this plan, the telco had offered upto 50 per cent faster data speeds than its other postpaid plans. Post that in May 2020, the telco tweaked the plan a little to offer priority 4G network feature with faster data speeds.

Around a month back TRAI had issued Vodafone Idea a show cause notice asking the telco as to why it shouldn’t ban the RedX plan which appears to be discriminatory in nature and making false claims about offering faster data speeds and misleading consumers.
