Vodafone Idea (Vi) is planning to shut its 3G services by financial year (FY) 2022 and become a 4G focused telecom operator in a bid to boost revenue. However, the telco will continue with its 2G services.

Further, the telco said that its fundraising talks were progressing well even as it ramps up focus on 4G services and added that despite delays, the telco’s plan for fundraising of Rs 250 billion will close soon and has seen keen interest by potential investors.

Meanwhile, Vi said that it would raise tariffs at the right time and believes that tariff hike is much needed.  Further, the telco added that its network is 5G-ready and it would roll out 5G as and when the ecosystem becomes ready for launch.
