Vodafone Idea has paid additional Rs 33.54 billion towards its adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues. This comes a day before the Supreme Court’s expected hearing of the modification plea filed by the telco and other operators.

Prior to this, the telco had already paid a sum of Rs 35 billion in two tranches towards its AGR liability. Vodafone Idea has stated that the additional payment of Rs 33.54 billion is the balance of the principal amount towards its AGR liability.

Earlier on March 6, 2020, Vodafone Idea had filed its self-assessment of the AGR liabilities with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). As per Vodafone Idea’s self-assessment, the principal amount towards its AGR liability from FY 2006-07 to FY 2018-19 was Rs 68.54 billion.

Further, as per Vodafone Idea’s self-assessment, its AGR dues amount to Rs 215.33 billion, of which the principal amount has been pegged at Rs 68.54 billion. However, As per DoT’s estimate, Vodafone Idea’s total AGR dues stand at Rs 530.38 billion.
