Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has paid Rs 12 billion dues towards licence fee and spectrum usage charge (SUC) to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for the April-June 2020 period.

According to industry sources, this comes after the company missed the July 15, 2020 deadline and a further delay could have resulted in the DoT invoking bank guarantees to recover the dues.

Vodafone Idea had debt worth Rs 1.12 trillion till March end 2020, besides Rs 500 billion worth AGR dues which it owes to DoT.
