The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has refused to stay the directive of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to block Vodafone Idea Limited’s (VIL) RedX plan.

Further, the TDSAT has issued a notice to the sector regulator allowing it time till July 15, 2020, to respond to the concerns raised by VIL.

The case will be taken up for further hearing on July 16, 2020.

Earlier, the TRAI, through a letter dated July 11, 2020, had blocked Airtel’s Platinum and VIL’s RedXpremium plansciting violation of norms and likely impact on the quality of services for other subscribers out of the plans.

On July 13, 2020, VIL had moved the TDSAT against TRAI’s order to block certain premium telecom plans.Asking for a speedy hearing, VIL had asked in its petition why TRAI passed the order on freezing certain plans without waiting to hear from the industry on the subject.
