Addressing the parliament, Minister of State for Communications Sanjay Dhotre said that Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel have balance dues under adjusted gross revenue (AGR) worth Rs 547.54 billion and Rs 259.76 billion, respectively.
According to the dues breakup given by the minister, the total demand on Airtel Group is Rs 439.80 billion and the self assessment amount is Rs 130.04 billion. An amount of Rs 180.04 billion has already been paid and the balance dues areRs 259.76 billion.Further, for Vodafone Idea, the total demand of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is Rs 582.54 billion and the self assessment is Rs 215.33 billion. The amount paid is Rs 35 billion and the balance due is Rs 547.54 billion.
The amount due for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is Rs 58.35 billion and the entire amount is outstanding. Similarly, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has dues of Rs 43.52 billion and the entire amount is yet to be paid.
Further, the minister added that Reliance Jio, which shares airwaves with Reliance Communications (RCOM), cannot be saddled with liability of RCOM’s pending AGR dues.
