Vodafone has reported a 4 per cent increase in its operating profit in fiscal year 2006-07. The company has also registered a 4.3 per cent increase in revenue, which escalated to ??31.1 billion. The UKbased service provider is interested in acquiring interests in emerging markets overseas. It is reportedly looking at purchasing 50 per cent stake in its South African mobile joint venture, Vodacom, that is currently owned by its partner Telkom SA Limited.
