Vodafone Group Plc plans to spend $40 billion on various global acquisitions, including India, over the next few years, says news reports.

In India, the operator is learnt to be in talks with the Tata Group for acquiring a majority stake in the group?s telecom businesses – Tata Communications and Tata Teleservices Limited.

Recently, Vodafone Group Plc has also made an offer to buy Spain-based cable operator Ono for an estimated deal worth $9.5 billion. Ono is in the business of selling fixed and mobile phone, TV and delivery of internet services.
