Voda Idea hikes tariffs of its prepaid offerings; off-net calls will become chargeable

Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has announced new tariffs/plans for its prepaid products and services, with effect from December 3, 2019.
As per a company statement, Vodafone Idea will now offer prepaid plans with validity of 2 days, 28 days, 84 days, and 365 days. Further, it has introduced a free usage plan (FUP) for off-net calls with different caps under each category. Off-net calls after the FUP gets over, will be charged at 6 paise/min. As per the operator, local, STD and national roaming voice calls from Vodafone to Vodafone and Vodafone to Idea and vice versa are considered as on-net, while rest calls made to other networks are off-net.

The statement also stated that VIL is actively investing in building digital infrastructure by embedding new age technologies to make its network future-fit. It is well on track to offer 4G services to 1 billion Indian citizens by March 2020.
