China-based electronic manufacturer, vivo Mobile, the brand of BBK Communication Technology, has entered into a strategic marketing and communication partnership with Viacom 18 Integrated Network Solutions (INS), a division of Viacom18. With this, vivo Mobile will enter the Indian handset manufacturing market and will use Viacom?s live and digital properties to build its brand in the country.

According to the company, it will launch around four-five handset models in India in December 2014. It plans to sell its mobile phones offline and has appointed distributors across 20 states for the same. Further, it is also planning to expand its operations in the country and is keen on developing products keeping in the mind the Indian market.

Meanwhile, it contemplates manufacturing its phones within India and has set a timeline of three years for establishing a unit in the country.
