Vivek Banzal has been appointed as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of ITI Limited.

Banzal served as the director, Consumer Fixed Access, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and has now been as the next CMD of ITI Limited, under the administrative control of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), following a recommendation by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).

Reportedly, Banzal was among four candidates interviewed for the post of CMD of ITI Limited.

Banzal is an Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer of the 1987-batch. He did his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Master of Engineering in Computer Science, and has more than 30 years of experience in handling telecom-related portfolios. In October 2018, Banzal joined as a director (CFA) at BSNL under then-chairman, Anupam Shrivastava.
