Virgin Mobile Latin America has raised $20 million in funding.
The funding was led by the operator’s shareholders – Hermes Growth Capital, Juan Villanova, former chairman and chief executive officer, Telefonica, and founder and investor, ePlanet Capital. Souter Investments and Virgin Group are also financially supporting the operator’s business.
Virgin Group plans to use the funds to restructure its mobile virtual network operator business in Colombia. In December 2012, International Finance Corporation had invested about $14 million in Virgin Mobile Colombia.
