Virgin Mobile India, a 50:50 joint venture between the UK-based Virgin Group and TTSL, is planning to soon foray into the GSM mobile services space. At present, Virgin Mobile services are offered on the CDMA technology platform by TTSL through a brand franchisee arrangement. The company facilitates TTSL in designing, marketing and provisioning of services. There is a revenue-sharing arrangement between the companies. Since Virgin’s agreement with TTSL is technology neutral, Virgin will extend its services into GSM as well once TTSL rolls out its GSM network.
