Viom Networks is reportedly holding talks with the Telenor Group to conclude a $300-million deal, say news reports. As per the conditions of the deal, Viom is to manage around 8,000 towers of the Telenor Group?s Bangladesh mobile arm, Grameenphone.

This is a part of the Telenor Group?s efforts to reduce costs by outsourcing tower network management.

Telenor has 55.8 per cent stake in Grameenphone and the rest is held by Grameen Telecom (34.2 per cent) and various retail and institutional investors (10 per cent).
