Micromax Informatics is planning a major leadership restructuring wherein the onus of the company’s management will return to the promoters. Earlier, the four promoters of the company, who together own about 80 per cent stake in Micromax, had stayed away from managing its day-to-day operations and instead hired top professionals from the industry. They included Vineet Taneja, Sanjay Kapoor and Prosenjit Sen. While the latter two, along with Khaja Muzaffarullah, Teja Gudena and Badal Bagri, have already resigned from the company, Taneja is reported to be on his way out. Taneja joined Micromax in July 2014 after heading Samsung India’s cellphone business and doing stints at Bharti Airtel and Nokia.
