Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has appointed Krishnan Ramachandran as additional director, qualifying as an independent director on the board of the company for a period of three years, with effect from December 27, 2018. Ramachandran currently serves as an independent director on the board of a few companies and also advises and works with the leadership team of several companies. Ramachandran has spent a major part of his career at Philips Electronics and with Tata Administrative Services (TAS). In 1998, he was appointed as the first Indian vice chairman and managing director of Philips Electronics’ Indian operations and was given additional responsibility as chief executive officer (CEO) for the Indian subcontinent in 2006.
