Vietnamese mobile operator Vinaphone, a subsidiary of state-owned telecom group Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications, has awarded Motorola a contract to expand its GSM network. According to the agreement, Motorola will deploy an additional 3,000 base station transceivers in the next two years to expand the company’s 2G coverage and increase capacity in the southern and northern provinces, including the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
