Videocon Telecom has withdrawn its application for bidding for spectrum in the 800 MHz band, which is used for providing CDMA services, says news reports.

Earlier the operator had submitted its applications to bid for spectrum in the 800 MHz band in 10 circles. Besides Videocon Telecom, the other operator to have filed its application for bidding for CDMA spectrum is Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL).

In the 800 MHz band, the government plans to auction three blocks of 1.25 MHz each in 19 telecom circles. The reserve price of each block in the 800 MHz band is Rs 45.5 billion.

In case TTSL decides to participate in the spectrum auction, the operator will bag the spectrum in the 800 MHz band at the base price.
