
Videocon Telecom plans to invest Rs 1.2 billion in FY 2012 to expand its mobile network in the country.
The company is going ahead with its expansion plans despite the uncertain investment environment being experienced by the telecom sector following a number of recommendations on 2G license allocation by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The company plans to go ahead with its capex plan for 2012 by expanding its presence in few of its telecom circles in North including Punjab. The company has already invested about Rs 100 billion to build its network in the network.
As long term business strategy Videocon Telecom is looking at exploring businesses including Direct-To-Home (DTH), mobile phone and mobile services.
Videocon Telecom offers mobile services in states including Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Punjab, Haryana, Mumbai, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, UP East, UP West, Himachal Pradesh.
