
Videocon Telecom has posted financial results for the fourth quarter ended March 2014.
For the quarter under review, the operator has reported consolidated top line revenue of Rs 3.44 billion for its GSM business, NLD/ILD and wireline business in the Punjab circle. The operator has registered a year-on-year (y-o-y) growth of 77 per cent in its consolidated top line revenue.
Further, the operator?s total subscriber base stood at 7 million witnessing a growth of 91 per cent. Meanwhile, operator?s minutes of usage have increased by over 81 per cent y-o-y and data business has grown by 317 per cent.
At present, data business accounts for 7 per cent of the company?s mobility business. At the end of the fourth quarter of FY 2013-14, about 38 per cent of the company?s total subscribers were active data users. Moreover, with a focus on unit level and gross level profitability, the operator has been able to achieve 25 per cent growth in gross rate per minute along with compound annual growth rate of 317 per cent in data revenues.
Operator?s bottom line for the quarter under review improved by 24 per cent. Going forward, Videocon telecom plans to invest over Rs 12.4 billion to upgrade its network and IT infrastructure in four operational circles which include Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. For financial year 2014-15, the operator is targeting consolidated top line revenue of Rs 25 billion.
