With an aim to encourage non-data users to use internet services, Videocon Telecom has introduced free data trial offer as part of which it plans to provide over 1,500 TB of free data to users.

As part of the offer, users will get access to 750 MB of free data usage for a period of two months. To create awareness and educate first time internet users, the operator has set-up branded ?Videocon Connect? stations where basic know how of data usage will be imparted to consumers.

Commenting on the free data trial offer, Arvind Bali, director and chief executive officer, Videocon Telecom said, ?We have been taking initiatives to increase our data penetration month on month. At present, we enjoy mobile internet penetration of 64 per cent on customers with data enabled handsets. Yet there is a set of customers who despite owning a data enabled handset have not used data since they came aboard on our network.? He adds, ?This initiative shall address both first time mobile users primarily from rural belts and existing mobile users who have been using mobile primarily for voice. The target segment is huge, and I am sure this will go a long way in digitally connecting every subscriber.?
