Stealing a march on the competition, Videocon Mobile Services is offering its users free incoming calls while roaming within its network.
This facility pegs outgoing local calls at Re 1 per minute and Rs 1.50 per minute for STD calls.
Commenting on the launch, Arvind Bali, director and chief executive officer, Videocon Mobile Services, said, ?In pursuance of the visionary recommendations as underlined in the National Telecom Policy 2012, we reiterate our commitment towards One Nation, Free Roaming. To extend the benefits of freedom of movement across our network, we have introduced this offering where our subscribers roaming across Videocon Network will stand to benefit from free incoming calls. There are no strings attached to the proposition, no STVs or recharges required.?
The operator had acquired spectrum in six circles, namely Bihar, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh East and Uttar Pradesh West in the auctions held in November 2012. Of this, it has started operations in four circles. It also has operations in Punjab.
