Videocon Mobile Services plans to invest Rs 8 billion in the Gujarat circle, say news reports. The telecom major has earmarked this amount to establish 500 telecom towers this year in the circle and 500 company outlets across the country by March 2014.
Currently, the operator has 4,096 towers in Gujarat and it has put its network expansion plans on the fast track. For instance, in June 2013, it set-up close to 1,291 new towers in the circle. Further, it plans to increase the number of sale outlets in Gujarat from 42 to 200 this year. So, far the operator has invested Rs 4 billion in the circle.
The company is also focusing on the data segment to enhance its customer base in the circle.
