
Videocon Mobile Phones is planning to rollout its 4G-enabled mobile phones by April 2015. The company is planning to sell these as part of bundled offers. Videocon is targeting selling 6 million handsets per month by 2016.
The company manufactures around 100,000 units of both its feature phones and smartphones from 17 manufacturing facilities across the country. The company is also planning to start a mobile manufacturing unit in South India in one of its existing units by April 2015. It has increased its focus on domestic production to reduce its imports from China.
Videocon Mobile has a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab. It is also planning to expand its reach in the eastern zone (West Bengal and Bihar), western zone (Gujarat and Maharashtra) and southern zone (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka).
