VIAVI Solutions has introduced the 800G transport module for OneAdvisor 800, an integrated and compact tool for testing up to 800G. Driven by artificial intelligence (AI)/ machine learning (ML) and other high-bandwidth applications, service providers and manufacturers are increasingly developing and deploying high-speed fibre and transport technologies for data centre and metro/core networks. Building on VIAVI’s market-leading OneAdvisor 800 platform, the transport module delivers comprehensive test capability, built-in guidance and automatic configuration that help field technicians install and maintain high-capacity networks up to 800G.
Ideal for technicians and contractors who must carry their gear into the field, the OneAdvisor 800’s superior battery life and industry-leading heat dissipation are well-suited to 800G testing in metro/core, metro/data centre interconnect (DCI), as well as campus and business services environments.
The 800G transport module supports both traditional active optical cables (AOC) / direct attach cables (DAC) cable tests and new active electrical cables (AEC) / active copper cable (ACC) tests within a single unit. Transport applications can be paired with optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) for fibre optics cable troubleshooting and open service access (OSA) for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) analysis. In addition, the module supports both quad small form-factor pluggable (QSFP) and open shortest path first (OSFP) form factors, both of which are increasingly used in 800G applications compared to lower speeds. Built-in, scripted workflows drive test consistency across users.
Introduced in 2020 to help simplify accelerated network installation at scale, OneAdvisor 800 offers the industry’s widest and deepest range of modular test capabilities supporting transport, wireless/ radio frequency (RF) and fibre optic environments. With compatible capabilities that include the INX 760 Probe Microscope and FiberComplete PRO, technicians worldwide can rapidly and reliably install, turn up and troubleshoot virtually any network architecture.
With the addition of the 800G field test capabilities for OneAdvisor 800, VIAVI offers the industry’s broadest test solutions for 800G and beyond, including R&D qualification and volume production of optical network component and connectivity up to 1.6T with ONE LabPro and MAP-300.
