Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has received the System and Organisational Controls 2 (SOC2) Certificate of Compliance, approved by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and audited by certified public accountant (CPA) of VISTA InfoSec. SOC2 is an auditing standard that reports the efficacy of internal controls based on the SOC2 trust service criteria parameters such as security, privacy, availability, confidentiality, and processing integrity of information system (IT) function.
According to Vi, this attestation endorses that the services provided by Vi to its customers are fully secure and compliant. The audit included a review of the distributed denial of service (DDoS) services, data centres, network sites, and their environment in terms of safety, security, carbon footprint, etc.
Commenting on the attestation, Mathan K Babu, chief technology and services officer, Vi, said, “The magnitude and the number of recurring cyber-attacks have sensitised the need and adoption of cyber security. Undertaking the SOC2 audit was a strategic decision to validate that our internal controls are well aligned with best security practices and ensure delivery of the highest quality standard services to clients. We are proud to receive this attestation as it endorses our secure systems and our commitment to delivering the highest quality standard services to our clients. This would go a long way in winning the trust of our clients in this digital era.”
Meanwhile, Narendra Sahoo, founder and director, VISTA InfoSec, said, “SOC2 is not an easy standard to rollout and requires quite a bit of support and commitment from the Auditee Organisation. It was a great pleasure working with Vodafone Idea team. The support and commitment provided by the Vodafone Idea team was remarkable and commendable. I wish them the best in all their endeavours.”
