Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has paid Rs 17.01 billion to the government for dues related to 5G and other spectrum acquired previously. This is the second instalment for the spectrum acquired in the auction held in 2022 where the telco bought 5G airwaves in the 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands for 187.99 billion.
In the regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, the telco informed that it has made the requisite payment of Rs 17.01 billion (including interest) to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) towards the 2022 spectrum auction instalment.
Earlier, Vi cleared pending dues of licence fees and spectrum usage charges of about Rs 4.5 billion for the fourth quarter of 2022-23.
