According to data released by Opensignal, Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has outperformed Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel on key 5G experience parameters for the first time since launching its commercial fifth-generation services in March 2025. The latest assessment shows Vi leading in 5G Video, 5G Games and 5G Voice App experience.

Vi recorded a score of 73.9 points out of 100 in the 5G Video Experience category, ahead of Airtel’s 73.2 points and Jio’s 71.8 points. The operator also topped the 5G Games Experience chart with 81.8 points, followed by Airtel at 80.2 points and Jio at 77.4 points.

In the 5G Voice App Experience category, Vi and Airtel were closely matched, scoring 83 points and 82.8 points respectively, while Jio followed with 81.9 points. The analysis is based on user data collected between October 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.

Further, on speed metrics, Reliance Jio emerged as the clear leader in 5G download speeds, clocking 198.9 Mbps, compared with Airtel’s 185.9 Mbps and Vi’s 134.8 Mbps. In 5G upload speeds, Bharti Airtel took the lead with 19.3 Mbps, followed by Vi at 17 Mbps and Jio at 13 Mbps.

Commenting on the findings, Opensignal said Jio continues to leverage its nationwide 5G standalone (SA) network footprint to maintain broad performance leadership, with its latest-generation network now carrying more than half of its total wireless data traffic. Airtel, by contrast, is differentiating itself through experience management and targeted network densification.

The firm noted that with more than 400 million 5G users by the end of 2025, India’s 5G race has shifted from early rollout milestones to the ability to sustain performance at scale, resulting in measurable differences across operators.

Additionally, Opensignal highlighted that India ranked among the top 10 large-area countries globally for mobile download speeds in its Global Network Excellence Index for the fourth quarter of 2025.
