Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has launched an industry-first self-know-your-customer (KYC) service for its customers. According to Vi, this move will help make customer onboarding easier as they would no longer to need to visit the retail store and go through the physical KYC process for acquiring a new prepaid or postpaid SIM.
The service has been rolled out for all postpaid customers in Kolkata and Karnataka service areas. With the objective of simplifying the SIM buying process, the service will be gradually rolled out at the pan-India level for both prepaid and postpaid customers soon. According to Vi, its users can order a new SIM online, select their desired plan, and do self-KYC to receive the SIM at home. This end-to-end digital verification solution aims to be simple, assured, convenient, speedy, safe and secure.
