According to industry sources, private equity (PE) companies including Apollo Global, TPG Global, and Carlyle Group among others are in early talks with Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) to invest in the its optic fibre and data centre assets which is worth around $1 billion.

However, as the telco will continue to use the optic fibre infrastructure the deals are likely to take place on a sale-and-leaseback basis.

Further, the deal is expected to be closed within two-three months.
