Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has announced the launch of 5G in 33 additional cities across the Kerala. With this expansion, Vi continues to strengthen its 5G footprint across key municipalities and prominent tourist destinations, building on its growing presence in both key districts and emerging towns.
Vi had earlier launched its 5G services in major hubs such as Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Malappuram, and subsequently expanded its footprint to cover all 14 districts of Kerala, including key locations such as Kollam, Thrissur, Kottayam, Palakkad, and Kannur, among others. Building on this strong foundation, the latest rollout in 33 additional cities marks the next phase of Vi’s phased rollout strategy, focused on strengthening network presence in high-potential data consumption areas.
Below are the cities where Vi 5G is being launched:
- South Kerala: Attingal, Nedumangad, Varkala, Karunagapally, Paravoor (South), Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Ettumanoor, Chengannur, Cherthala and Mavelikkara
- Central Kerala: Muvattupuzha, Perumbavoor, Kothamangalam, Chalakudy, Chavakkad, Guruvayoor, Irinjalakuda, Kodungallur, Kunnamkulam, Vadakkancherry, Ottappalam, Pattambi and Shoranur
- North Kerala: Nilambur, Parappanangadi, Perinthalmanna, Ponnani, Faroke, Mukkam, Ramanattukara, Kondotty and Thalassery
By strategically scaling its 5G infrastructure across Kerala, Vi aims to support the state’s growing digital ecosystem, including education hubs, tourism corridors, and local businesses. This phase of expansion will enable approximately 2.1 million additional people to access Vi’s 5G services across Kerala.
