
Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has announced the launch of 4G network connectivity in islands of Lakshadweep. This is a significant step in facilitating seamless network connectivity for residents, businesses and visitors in Lakshadweep.
Vi announced that it has deployed the 900 MHz spectrum as well as 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum to connect more than 20,000 population, and visitors in Agatti and Kavaratti, the largest islands of Lakshadweep.
The launch of Vi GIGAnet built on tri-band spectrum in Lakshadweep is part of Vi’s nationwide network expansion and enhancement exercise. After its successful follow-on public offer (FPO) in April, Vi is expanding coverage in new territories, increasing capacity on existing sites as well as upgrading its network infrastructure to provide a superior customer experience.
