Vodafone Idea limited (Vi) has announced capacity and coverage enhancement in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The company announced the deployment of additional 900 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum at more than 7900 sites across all the districts in UP and Uttarakhand.
This strategic upgrade will provide Vi users in cities and towns including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Dehradun, Meerut, Bareilly, with enhanced indoor coverage and faster data speeds.
This network enhancement includes the deployment of 6.2MHz spectrum in 900 MHz band, which was acquired in the recent spectrum suctions, which further strengthens indoor coverage, particularly in densely populated areas, ensuring seamless connectivity for Vi users.
This update follows the company’s previous network enhancement upgrades announced in July. To date, Vi has successfully upgraded over 17800 sites across all districts in UP and Uttarakhand, reinforcing its commitment to deliver a superior network experience.
Commenting on the news, Pravir Kumar, operations director, Vi, said, “Deployment of the most efficient 900 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum across over 17800 sites in UP and Uttarakhand since July, is an important step in enhancing the overall network experience for our users.
