Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) became the first telecom company to showcase its anti-phishing solution to regulatory bodies including the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Vi is currently running a trial of the solution developed by Tanla Platforms. The operator demonstrated an accuracy of over 99 per cent through its solution. This means that the artificial intelligence (AI)-based solution is stopping phishing attempts through SMS.
Earlier, TRAI had asked all three major telcos to showcase their anti-phishing solution by May 2023, as curbing phishing and cyber fraud has been the topmost priority of regulators in India.
