Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has announced the expansion of L900 and L2100 technology to over 4,200 sites across 35 districts in Maharashtra including Pune, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Thane. This is part of Vi’s broader strategy to upgrade and enhance network infrastructure and provide its best-ever network after successfully raising funds in its follow-on public offering.
The expansion of these technologies will significantly enhance Vi users’ indoor network experience in areas with dense building infrastructure and in suburban areas, enabling superior voice quality as well as faster data speeds on Vi GIGAnet.
Commenting on the announcement, Rohit Tandon, cluster business head, Maharashtra and Goa, Vi, said, “We are committed to delivering superior network experiences to our users by expanding network coverage and capacity. The deployment of L900 and L2100 is an important step in enhancing Vi’s 4G network in the Maharashtra circle. Furthermore, Vi has been making significant strides in enhancing its plans and offerings for customers in the state. For instance, users get 130GB of guaranteed extra data over a period of one year under Vi’s Guarantee Programme and Vi Movies & TV App now offers access to 17 OTT platforms and Live TV channels in one single subscription.
