Verizon Communications Inc. has revived talks for buying Vodafone Group Plc?s 45 per cent stake in their US-based joint venture company Verizon Wireless for $130 billion. Verizon Communications Inc is working with several banks to finance about $60 billion of the deal.
Earlier in April 2013, Verizon Communications Inc had hired advisers for a possible $100 billion bid. The company was reportedly considering 50:50 cash and stock offer for buying Vodafone Group Plc?s 45 per cent stake in Verizon Wireless. However, owing to the disagreements over the stake valuation between the two companies, the deal could not be concluded.
