Vedanta Group has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 30 Japan-based technology firms to develop India’s semiconductor and glass display manufacturing ecosystem. The MoUs were signed at the Vedanta-Avanstrate Business Partners Summit 2022 held in Tokyo, Japan. The summit was attended by more than 200 delegates from over 100 global companies.
According to Vedanta, it is committed to making India a hub for electronics manufacturing. It is focused on taking the lead in creating the electronics industry ecosystem rather than just technology transfers. This comprehensive plan can generat business opportunities of over $49 billion for its partners in the coming years.
Additionally, the company, in collaboration with Foxconn, has invested $20 billion to set up a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dholera, Gujarat.
