Vedanta Group has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 20 Korean companies from display glass industries for developing an electronic manufacturing hub in India. Vedanta was invited to the Korea Biz-Trade Show 2023 which was organised by the state enterprise KORTA.

The company has plans to set up a display fab in India as it invited prospective partners and customers to help in establishing an electronics hub, backed by government policies. The proposed hub will include Vedanta’s greenfield display fab, while the company plans on setting up a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Gujarat.

The company also applied for setting up a display unit which can be used for the manufacturing of mobile phone screens, television and other digital devices. In December 2022, the company received a similar invitation for roadshow in Japan, which was further attended by more than 200 delegates from around 100 companies. Vedanta signed MoUs with 30 Japanese firms at that time.
