Every great journey begins with vision; the courage to dream big and the determination to turn that dream into reality. Vedang was born from this very spirit in 2008. Like all startups, Vedang had humble beginnings, operating out of a small space in Mumbai as a training centre with a mission to equip fresh engineering graduates with the skills to power India’s telecom sector. What started as a focused initiative soon evolved into a pioneering force, setting benchmarks and redefining the industry.

When Mr. Ashish Kapoor, Director and CEO of Vedang Cellular Services, embarked on this journey, he didn’t just start a company; he nurtured a vision. A vision that transformed a handful of passionate individuals into a powerhouse of over 2,500 experts. A vision that made Vedang a name synonymous with reliability, innovation and industry leadership.

When I joined Vedang as Chief Operating Officer, I stepped into a company with a strong foundation; built on dedication and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. This also marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter; one where I could contribute to taking Vedang to the next level, driving innovation and expanding our horizons. It’s been a privilege to be part of this journey and to push our boundaries even further.

Building the Foundation (2008 – 2017)

Brick by brick, challenge by challenge, Vedang strengthened its foundation. Our expertise in network planning, deployment, optimization and maintenance earned us the trust of India’s largest telecom operators and OEMs. As technology evolved, so did we; constantly innovating, adapting and proving that no challenge was too big when backed by passion and commitment.

2017 marked a monumental moment in Vedang’s journey when India’s largest business services provider, Quess Corp. Ltd., recognized our operational excellence and deep-rooted industry expertise, leading to a strategic acquisition. This was more than just a milestone; it was a turning point that propelled us toward accelerated growth, allowing us to scale rapidly and venture into new domains.

Scaling New Heights (2018 – 2021)

With an ever-expanding portfolio, Vedang reached new heights:

  • In 2018, we crossed the INR 1,000 million revenue milestone, growing our workforce exponentially.
  • By 2019, we secured direct partnerships for Small Cell Business with India’s largest telecom service provider.
  • In 2020, we expanded into enterprise solutions, deploying WiFi, UBR, I-WAN and FTTH projects.
  • A state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC) was launched, along with Centre of Excellence and Digitized Tools to streamline large-scale deployments.

Transforming into a Master System Integrator (2022 – 2024)

Vedang didn’t just keep up with industry shifts; it led them. By 2022, we remodelled ourselves into a Master System Integrator, diversifying and driving end-to-end project execution across 4G, 5G, Captive Networks, IoT and e-surveillance. In 2023, we expanded into renewable energy solutions, making a significant impact in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop solarization and mobile tower solarization, furthering sustainability and smarter energy management. Our latest foray into enterprise network operations and maintenance added another feather in our cap, further expanding our horizons in our journey of diversification.

In 2024, we played a pivotal role in executing a large-scale 4G rollout for a major national telecom initiative, covering saturation sites including Universal Services Obligation Fund (USOF) sites, contributing to 20% of their sites pan India.

Today, Vedang operates across 76 geographies in India, spanning 20+ telecom circles in a multi-operator environment, from urban hubs to rural landscapes, including difficult terrain involving sub 100,000 and sub-10,000 population areas. With a strong ecosystem and diversified capabilities, we continue to drive large scale connectivity and digital transformation across the nation.

2025 & Beyond: Infinite Possibilities

With telecom as our backbone, we have grown, adapted and set new benchmarks. Now, as we step into a new era, our vision expands beyond networks; to creating integrated solutions that empower industries and drive transformation. Our mission remains clear: to unite networks, enable seamless connectivity and accelerate efficiency, continuous growth and progress. The road ahead is ambitious, so are we. An exciting future lies ahead, and Vedang is strongly poised to lead the way.
