UTStarcom has bagged a Rs 5.5 billion contract from BSNL to deploy 1.3 million broadband lines across 900 cities throughout India. UTStarcom will be the turnkey provider for the deployment, with full responsibility for the network design, planning and deployment, as well as service rollout and maintenance.
UTStarcom’s ADSL broadband solutions are expected to enable BSNL to offer new broadband-based triple-play services such as video-on-demand, video multicast, VPN and high speed internet services.
