As per a study by GSMA Intelligence, China, United States, Japan and Korea will account for more than half of the world’s subscribers for 5G mobile networks by 2025. China will be predominating with 600 million 5G connections.

Europe will lag in terms of consumer take-up resulting from its slow development in building 5G networks.

Further, 66 per cent of mobile connections in Korea will be 5G-based by mid-decade, followed by the United States with 50 per cent and Japan with 49 per cent connections.

Worldwide, 1.57 billion people are expected to adopt 5G by 2025, accounting for 18 per cent of total mobile users.

Further, the report added that carriers may hike 5G prices by 15-20 per cent, offering various unlimited data plans. However, the gains will eventually be competed away.
