Apple’s iPhone shipments to the United States generated nearly 37 per cent of Tata Electronics’ financial year 2025 revenue, underscoring Apple’s shift of production to India from China amid tariff threats from the US president.
Exports to the US contributed over Rs 231.12 billion to the Indian assembler’s topline last fiscal year.
Further, Ireland emerged as the second-largest revenue market for Tata Electronics, contributing 23 per cent or Rs 142.55 billion. Significantly, Ireland also serves as Apple’s European hub. Exports to Taiwan accounted for 15 per cent of revenues, while sales in the domestic market made up 20 per cent, according to the company’s filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).
Additionally, the surge in Apple’s share of Tata Electronics’ revenue suggests that iPhone production for the US market had shifted from China to India well before former US President initiated the tariff measures in February. In the previous year, the company had assembled iPhones primarily for exports to Taiwan and for meeting demand in the Indian market. Tata Electronics, along with Taiwan’s Foxconn (Hon Hai), is among the key iPhone manufacturers in India.
