
US-based telecom operator AT&T has awarded LTE equipment contracts to Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent. As per the multi-year contracts signed with AT&T, Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent will provide both LTE equipment and services to design, deploy and optimise the network. AT&T plans field trials of LTE technology later this year, and commercial deployment is expected to begin in 2011. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
