According to latest data released by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), India recorded Rs 7.7 trillion worth of digital transactions through unified payments interface (UPI) in October 2021.
The total number of UPI transactions during October 2021 stood at 4.2 billion.
Earlier in September 2021, the NPCI had recorded digital payments worth Rs 6.54 trillion via 3.65 billion UPI transactions.
The leading players in the digital payment space are Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm. In September 2021, PhonePe and Google Pay registered digital transactions worth Rs 3.06 trillion and Rs 2.5 trillion, respectively.
